NABS at Our Choice Expo 2016

NABS & NICSS Auslan Interpreting Services were pleased to take part in the annual Our Choice Expo again this year.

The Expo was held at Deakin Uni, Geelong on Friday, 12 February and was designed to inform National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants and their families about the services and issues related to the NDIS.

The Expo was hosted by the Having a Say Conference and was attended by over 600 visitors and more than 80 exhibitors offering services to people with a disability.

NABS & NICSS were so pleased to have the opportunity to connect with Deaf and hard of hearing people as well as other service providers about what we do and how we, as registered NDIS providers, can be of assistance to NDIS participants.

NABS at the Australian Deaf Games

NABS interpreters Ali Dowl and Liz Temple were part of the recent Australian Deaf Games in Adelaide.

They were mainly located at the Games Hub, with many organisations providing information and goodies to the community.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat, ask questions and give us feedback.

Well done to all of the athletes for their efforts in the hot Adelaide weather.

When visiting sports venues, Liz and Ali report their favourite sporting moment was a hard fought netball match between Vic and SA ... ending in a draw!

Thanks for having us Adelaide!

NABS/NICSS was proud to be a sponsor of the Australian Deaf Games, which was held from January 9-16.

Wodonga, Victoria has been chosen as one of the host cities for the 18th Australian Deaf Games in 2018.
