Changes to NABS Services

Posted by Communications@NABS on 28 June 2016

From 1 July 2016, NABS will change.

Changes to government funding means NABS can't provide same interpreting services to all Deaf people.

You can view the message in Auslan here.

What will change?

If you have NDIS funding for interpreting

  • No change.  NABS is the same for you.
  • You ask NABS for your health appointments.
  • We can provide all services you want from your funding.

If you have NDIS Package but no interpreting funding

  • NABS can provide services for a limited time.
  • Go to your planner and ask for funding for NABS appointments.
  • When you have NDIS funding for interpreting ask for NABS for private health appointments.
If you are not part of NDIS, NABS can provide interpreting for:
  • GP, Specialist and Dental only.

If you are over 65, NABS can provide

  • GP, Specialist and Dental

NABS staff will be in the office from 8am 6pm Monday to Friday.

There will be no change to forms and contact numbers.

You can view more information about the services we cover on the Health Services page.

Please check your email (including junk folder) as NABS has sent you further information about these changes.
